LEM, the world's leading manufacturer of electrical energy sensors, announced the launch of the first set of components that can help train designers comply with the interim standard EN 50463 for on-board energy monitoring. This set of components includes an electric energy meter that matches current and voltage sensors. It has the following features:
EM4T II is the latest enhanced version of the LEM EM4T energy meter, with an accuracy of 0.5R after verification
The identification accuracy of LEM Electronics' DV series voltage sensor is 1R or 0.75R
The current sensor belongs to the LEM ITC series; the identification accuracy of ITC 4000 and ITC 2000/1000 combination is 0.5R
LEM Electronics’ EM4T II is a single-phase energy meter, which meets all current and trial on-board rail transit train energy monitoring standards, especially the latest prEN 50463 standard. Using EM4T II to track and record energy consumption, designers can provide energy metering for charging, which is an essential function for locomotives operating across countries and powered by multiple grids.
EM4T provides 4 input channels to receive any measurement results from the current DC or AC traction power supply network. Calculate reactive and functional energy through voltage and current measurement values, draw load curves, and store the data in the internal flash memory; record data points by selecting the time interval (1-60 minutes). The recorded data points include the time, date, train number and exact location of the train at each interval: the location information is input to the EM4T II via a dedicated GPS. When recording at 15-minute intervals, the memory capacity of the EM4T II is sufficient to record 300 days of data. In addition, a real-time data interface can be selected to support data exchange with other train systems (such as driver display screens). EM4T II has excellent anti-interference performance and can withstand high-intensity electrical noise commonly found in railway environments.
Especially valuable is that EM4T II can provide two-way energy flow monitoring, which can accurately record the energy recovered to the power supply network during regenerative braking.
LEM Electronics' DV series voltage sensor meets or exceeds the performance and safety requirements (service and design) of all current rail train systems; it provides isolated voltage measurement for the railway network (600-4200V), and its volume is significantly smaller than any other product on the market. Another supporting product is the LEM ITC series current sensor, which meets the requirements of large-diameter current measuring equipment and related high-voltage specifications.
